Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Position Purpose: 

The Redcoat Event Concierge serves as the primary point of contact for event planners, providing a visible and accessible communication channel for customer changes, needs, and emergencies. This role ensures a seamless response system that facilitates real-time updates during events, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and team members in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with Marriott standards, adapting to the hotel's scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high grooming and appearance standards, including wearing a proper nametag at all times.
  • Act as a liaison between event planners and hotel departments to coordinate event logistics and immediate service needs.
  • Supervise and support banquet team members to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Collaborate with F&B managers, keeping them informed of operational concerns as they arise.
  • Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding any issues or urgent matters requiring attention.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring loss prevention measures within banquet operations.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery in all banquet functions.
  • Adhere to local liquor laws, health codes, and sanitation regulations.
  • Interpret and execute banquet event orders (BEOs) to ensure all elements meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Organize daily workflow by reviewing schedules, equipment needs, and supply availability.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges by implementing effective solutions.
  • Oversee the handling, storage, and security of all catering service equipment.
  • Verify staffing levels for upcoming shifts and events to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Manage catering and banquet elements, including food and beverage service, room setups, coffee breaks, and payroll considerations.
  • Maintain labor costs within designated budget goals.
  • Cross-check daily event sheets with BEOs for accuracy.
  • Address last-minute event changes (“pop-ups”) and ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain open and continuous communication with event planners to ensure satisfaction.
  • Supervise and verify banquet billing, ensuring proper tabulation of checks for guest signatures.
  • Report necessary equipment replacements or supply orders to the Banquet Manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of all service areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of banquet facilities, submitting maintenance requests as needed.
  • Lead meetings and pre-event briefings effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Participate in all required training and meetings.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Marriott CITY experience required 
  • Strong reading comprehension to interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and correspondence and the ability to effectively communicate with groups of customers or employees.
  • Competence in basic mathematical calculations, including rates, ratios, percentages, and bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to various operational scenarios.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Red Coat App for client instruction and request follow-ups.
  • Familiarity with banquet check processing using Delphi and CITY systems.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and engage in conversation for extended periods.
  • Frequent requirement to climb, balance, and maneuver in various spaces.
  • Occasional use of hands for handling tools, controls, or equipment; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and tasting or smelling food items.
  • Regular ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequent ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasional ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity for close-up tasks, distance perception, color differentiation, peripheral awareness, depth perception, and focus adjustments.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to wet and humid conditions during event setup and execution.
  • Occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise levels typical of banquet and hospitality environments.
