What you will be doing
In this role, you will help maintain the interior and exterior of the hotel including but not limited to; guest rooms, public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas and other designated items as needed. Responding to guests maintenance requests courteously, promptly, and resolving matters to the guest’s satisfaction.
Requirements
To become a Maintenance Technician I at a Hilton hotel, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, along with the ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and follow instructions. You should also possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Specific Skills and Requirements:
. Basic Skills: You'll need to be able to follow written and verbal directions, climb stairs and ladders (up to 40 feet), and lift/carry items (up to 50 lbs).
. Experience: While not always explicitly stated, prior experience in maintenance or a related field is often preferred, especially in the hospitality industry.
. Certifications: Some roles may require a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certificate, and having certifications in related fields like HVAC, electrical, or plumbing can be a plus.
. Communication: Good communication skills are important for interacting with guests and other staff members.
. Problem-solving: You should be able to troubleshoot and resolve basic maintenance issues.
. Reliability and Initiative: You'll need to be reliable, have a good work ethic, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Physical Requirements: Be able to lift, push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach.
Basic skills in drywall, painting/staining and wall vinyl repairs, plumbing skills including drain cleaning.
· Maintain all guestroom and public space equipment change filters, replace caulk, tile/grout, door repair to include locking mechanisms and hinges.
. Inspect rooms for pest intrusion. Replace cosmetic appliance components as needed. Replace light bulbs and ballasts, repair closet/drapery tracks. as well as furniture, stain furniture and repair knicks and gouges. Replace remote control batteries.
· Unclog toilets and sinks, touch up paint and glue peeling wallpaper.
· Complete planned scheduled preventative maintenance. Replace faulty plumbing components. Maintain accurate functioning of all equipment and tools.
· Establish a clear line of communication with the engineering leadership.
· Detailed record keeping in English
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to six months related experience and/or training.
