What you'll be doing

As a Line Cook at The Rackhouse Tavern, you will play a vital role in bringing our signature culinary dishes to life. With careful attention to detail, you will prepare food according to direction and as ordered by the server, ensuring each plate is a masterpiece. In addition to your culinary skills, you will also help to maintain a safe and welcoming kitchen environment by performing general cleaning and maintenance of food and beverage prep areas. Food safety will be a top priority for you, as you will be responsible for dating and rotating food containers, safely storing perishables, and ensuring a sanitary work environment. You will also monitor ingredient supplies, noting items that need replenishment and ensuring that the correct amounts are pulled for prep.

What we're looking for

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Kitchen experience preferred
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable standing up and moving around the work area
• Proficient in handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
• Flexible with bending, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to work in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment

Education & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We also value one to three months of related experience and/or training.
